Citizen Science Intro & Observation Collection Walk

Come learn about citizen science and jump right into contributing to a citizen science project! First, there will be a brief presentation about how you can get involved in citizen science and how easy it is to get started. Then, we will take to the trails as a group for you to make observations about the natural world and to start collecting data for a citizen science project. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. Anyone can help contribute to citizen science projects!

This program is perfect for adults and children alike, whether you are a science enthusiast or just have an appreciation for the natural world.

What is citizen science? Citizen science is a way for anyone to contribute to real scientific research! There are citizen science projects for just about any field of science, from archaeology to astronomy.

Castle in the Clouds is using SciStarter, a database with thousands of citizen science projects and free trainings, to help us with our citizen science efforts. If you have time beforehand, consider making a SciStarter account, looking at the projects on the CITC Citizen Science list, and making an account for a project that interest you from that list.
