School Field Trips
Castle in the Clouds is currently offering our newest field trip programming which was created with State and C3 standards in mind with help from the Castle Teacher Advisory Group. With this field trip, our Education Team will work with you to customize your visit for maximum support of your curriculum and your students. Use the flow chart below to start building your perfect Castle in the Clouds field trip!

Start by Choosing One of the Following:
Guided Tour
- Includes our customizable Lucknow Highlights tour facilitated by our education team
- Includes a worksheet to use during the tour
- Pre-visit and post-visit activities
- 60-minute tour plus 30 minutes for transfers to and from the Castle on the trolley*
- Students must be split into groups of 8
- 1 chaperone for every 10 students is free
- Math tour focusing on tessellations, reflections, and rotations also available.
*Timing is based on 24 students, which is the maximum number the Castle can accommodate at one time. If you have more than 24 students, we can discuss required timeframe.
Self-Guided Tour
- Includes workbook for students, trolley ride, and pre-visit and post-visit activities
- Able to tour at own pace, interact with museum interpreters, and read Explore More Cards
- We recommend 60 minutes for your tour and 30 minutes for transfers to and from the Castle on the trolley
- Students must be split into groups of about 5
- 1 chaperone for every 5 students is free

- Hike: Landscape History
- Hike: Nature & Ecology
- Hike & Sketch
- Meet the Beekeeper (limited)
- Walk & Write
Do you have a big group? Half of your students can tour, while the other half completes an add-on experience; then, rotate with a picnic lunch in between!

You will want to access the Castle in the Clouds property by using 586 Ossipee Park Road as your GPS address. Please note that if you search for “Castle in the Clouds” you will be at a different entrance 2 miles down the road, which when open, is not wide enough to accommodate a school bus.
When our school bus arrives, take a right at the fork in the road so that Shannon Pond is on your left. Please proceed to our oversized vehicle parking, on the grass, just after the Café and green bathhouse building on your left-hand side.
